Tagesablauf

Meet your driver and English-speaking guide at the Samarkand–Panjakent border crossing. Transfer to Panjakent city where you visit the local bazaar, exchange money, and buy last-minute supplies. Drive to Artuch Alpine Camp (approx. 2 hours) through scenic mountain landscapes. Arrival at Artuch (2,200 m). No hiking on the first day to allow proper acclimatization. Accommodation: Camping near the alpine camp (optional guesthouse in the lower village available on request at extra cost). Dinner prepared by the cook. Overnight in tents. Travel time: ~3–4 hours | Overnight altitude: ~2,200 m

Breakfast. Start trekking toward the Kulikalon Lakes via an easy to moderate trail. Enjoy stunning views of mountain meadows and rocky peaks. Arrival at the turquoise lakes and camp setup. Picnic lunch by the lakes. Free time for walking, photography, or relaxation. Dinner by the lakes. Overnight in tents near the Kulikalon Lakes. Distance: ~6 km | Hiking time: ~3–4 hours | Elevation gain: +600 m | From 2,200 m to 2,800 m

Breakfast. Trek over Alaudin Pass (3,850 m) with breathtaking panoramic views. Picnic lunch on the pass or during the descent. Descend to the Alaudin Lakes. Set up camp near the lakes. Dinner prepared by the cook. Overnight in tents by the lakes. Maximum altitude: ~3,850 m | Camp altitude: ~2,500 m | Distance: ~10–12 km | Hiking time: ~6–7 hours | Elevation gain/loss: +1,050 m / –1,350 m

Breakfast. Day hike to Lake Mutnoe, with stunning views of Chimtarga Peak (5,495 m) — the highest mountain in the Fann range. Picnic lunch at the lake. Return trek to the Alaudin Lakes camp. Dinner by the lakeside. Overnight in tents at the same camp. Maximum altitude: ~3,500 m | Distance: ~10 km (round trip) | Hiking time: ~6–7 hours | Elevation gain/loss: +1,000 m / –1,000 m

Breakfast and pack up camp. Short descent to the Alaudin base camp, passing two additional scenic lakes. Meet the driver and transfer to Panjakent. Farewell lunch with traditional Tajik cuisine. Transfer to the Samarkand–Panjakent border crossing or hotel in Panjakent. End of the tour. Descent time: ~30–40 minutes | Transfer time: ~2.5–3 hours

Was mitzubringen ist

Clothing: Warm jacket (even in summer), fleece or thermal layers, windproof and waterproof jacket, trekking pants, hat, gloves, and warm socks, comfortable hiking boots, lightweight shoes or sandals for camp. Personal Items: Sunglasses and sunscreen (strong mountain sun), reusable water bottle, small day backpack, headlamp or flashlight, power bank, personal toiletries and wet wipes. Optional: Trekking poles, camera or binoculars, personal snacks (energy bars, nuts, chocolate).

Hinweise zu Höhe und Sicherheit

Maximum altitude reached: 3,850 m. Walk at a steady pace and avoid rushing. Drink plenty of water (2–3 liters per day). Eat regularly, even if appetite decreases. Avoid alcohol during the trek. Inform your guide immediately if you feel unwell. Common mild symptoms may include headache, fatigue, or shortness of breath and usually pass with rest.

Häufig gestellte Fragen

Das Wetter im Fann-Gebirge ist im Sommer meist stabil, kann sich aber schnell aendern. Die Tage sind gewoehnlich warm und sonnig, waehrend Abende und Naechte besonders in hoeheren Lagen kalt sein koennen. Regen oder kurze Gewitter sind moeglich.
Auf dem Weg gibt es keine festen Toiletten. In der Naehe der Lagerplaetze werden einfache Freilufttoiletten im Campstil genutzt. Toilettenpapier sollte persoenlich mitgebracht werden.
Waehrend des Trekkings gibt es keine Duschen. Einfaches Waschen ist mit Wasser aus Bergbaechen oder Seen moeglich, allerdings nur mit kaltem Wasser. Gaestehaeuser vor und nach dem Trek koennen Duschen haben.
Der Mobilfunkempfang ist begrenzt. In der Naehe von Artuch und gelegentlich an hoeheren Punkten kann es schwachen Empfang geben, aber der groesste Teil des Trekkings ist komplett ohne Netz. In den Bergen gibt es kein mobiles Internet.
